What is Shadow Foam?

Shadow Foam is the ultimate way to organise and protect your hand tools, power tools, camera gear, and more. It’s made from 100% polyethylene; durable, versatile, and designed with a unique structure that cuts cleanly and peels easily. Shadow Foam Inserts are available in nine vibrant colours. 

How easy is it to cut?

Cutting Shadow Foam Inserts for your toolbox is easy once you’ve got the hang of it. Like many things, a bit of practice makes perfect! Thanks to its unique layered design, it cuts cleanly and peels easily for smooth, professional results.

Can I get sheets cut to size?

Absolutely! We offer custom-size foam inserts for most of the power tool brands so you can get the perfect fit for your drawers, cases, or toolboxes. Head over to Shadow Foam’s Custom Size page to order made-to-measure tool foam inserts tailored to your exact dimensions.

Do I have to cut finger pulls in the foam like others I've seen?

It’s a great idea to cut finger pulls so you can easily lift your tools or equipment out of the tool foam. You can use our Stencil Set to create neat, consistent finger pulls. It’s quick, easy, and gives your toolbox foam layout a professional finish.

How do I fit the scalpel blade to the handle?

It only takes a moment, but safety first! We recommend watching our short tutorial video that walks you through fitting the scalpel blade correctly and safely before cutting your tool foam inserts.

Can I get a sample?

Yes, you can! We offer Shadow Foam Sample Packs for just £5.00 /unit so you can experience the product before committing to a full set. Can the colours be flipped around?

Yes! Shadow Foam is fully reversible, so you can choose which side to display, either the coloured side or the black side. Moreover, Shadow Foam Inserts are available in nine vibrant colours, allowing you to personalise your tool storage based on your workspace, garage or tool box.

Can you cut the foam for me?

Yes, for businesses, we offer Shadow Foam Technical Conversion Services, providing precision-cut foam inserts for demanding environments. In process-driven and highly regulated sectors such as aerospace, defense, automotive, and advanced manufacturing, accountability and auditability are critical. Our technical conversion services deliver engineered tool control solutions, enabling robust inventory management, reducing operational downtime, and supporting compliance with industry standards.

Is there a tolerance for sizes?

Yes, there is. Please refer to Section 9 of our Terms and Conditions for a detailed breakdown of the size tolerance for each tool foam insert. This ensures you know exactly what to expect when ordering your foam inserts.

Are coupons sitewide?

Unless stated otherwise, all coupons are sitewide.

Can I cut Shadow Foam with a laser?

Yes, you can laser-cut Shadow Foam for incredibly precise results in tool box organisation! We’ve even created a video showing exactly how to do it safely and effectively. Laser cutting is a great option if you want perfectly detailed layouts for tool foam inserts.

Can I store hot or warm items/tools in Shadow Foam?

We don’t recommend storing hot or recently used tools directly in Shadow Foam, as the heat can cause the foam to warp or melt. Always allow your tools to cool before placing them back in your foam inserts to maintain the tool foam structure and appearance.

Is there anything I can't use Shadow Foam for?

You can use Shadow Foam for pretty much anything related to organisation. We do often get questions about couch cushions, upholstery, pool noodles, shoe insoles, acoustics, insulation, modelling - Shadow Foam cannot be used for these applications.

How much is shipping to the UK?

Shadow Foam shipping costs vary based on the size and weight of your order. Please visit our Shipping page for detailed information on delivery options and prices within the UK.

How much is shipping to my country?

If you’re outside the UK, shipping Shadow Foam inserts will depend on your location and the size of your order. The easiest way to find out is to add your items to your basket, you’ll see accurate international shipping costs at checkout. You can also visit our Shipping page for detailed information.

Do you ship to my country?

Yes! We offer worldwide shipping, so as long as there aren’t any courier restrictions in your region, we can deliver Shadow Foam, tool foam inserts, and accessories straight to you.

When will I get my order?

Delivery time depends on where you live and when your order is placed. For estimated delivery times, please check our Shipping Information page.

Can I change or cancel my order?

To cancel an order, please find the order on your account and request a cancellation. To change an order, please contact us at hello@shadowfoam.com

Can I return my order?

We accept returns of any standard sheets as long as the order is in mint condition. We do not accept returns on custom size orders. Shadow Foam is not liable for postage for returns.
