Dungeons and Dragons: Assault of the Giants Custom Box
Shadow Foam Creations Episode 16
Like many board games, Dungeons and Dragons minis are small, and in plentiful numbers. There’s nothing worse than scrambling through a box to find the right piece. Using Shadow Foam to organise game pieces means that every piece has it’s own place. This makes it so much easier to find what you’re looking for, as well as knowing that when you finish your session, nothing is missing. Making a box like this is simple, you can learn how to cut Shadow Foam here.
We bought a wooden box from eBay and gave it a nice coat of oil. Now that it looked the part, we added the Assault of the Giant logo to the lid with a printed reverse picture and acetone (watch the video to find out more!). We then replaced the hinges and lock to make it look the part. The box is in two layers of foam, one for the miniatures and one for the dice, cards and other pieces of the game. The finished piece looks really great, and was actually part of a giveaway. You can see all of our giveaway winners on our giveaway page (coming soon).
We’re not the only ones to be putting board games in foam. Many of our customers also love to use Shadow Foam to keep all of their pieces tidy and organised. Have a look at what everyone else is using their Shadow Foam for here.
Check out the video to see how we made it and get a closer look at it.
