Methods of storing your batteries

Fans of our Youtube channel might spot that we did a battery storage box project once before. That’s because it took us quite a while to be able to lay our hands on this case! Previously we came up with a solution using a DeWalt/Stanley Deep Pro Organiser. For anyone else struggling to get this case, that is a really neat solution and a great compromise. But essentially, you could do this using Shadow Foam inserts and any case you have access to.

In our opinion though, given that this DeWalt battery box does work with the ToughSystem 2.0 range then this is a definite upgrade and a great addition to your ToughSystem set up, if you can get one.

Things to consider when storing your batteries

Important to think about the different battery sizes having different shape profiles. We had a real selection of batteries, some 5 amp, some 4 amp and even some 2 and 1.5 amp. The 4 and the 5 amp batteries are both the same size, and the 2 amp and 1.5 amp are the same size, but smaller than the others.

Another suggestion is that given these batteries have indicator lights on them, it makes total sense to store them with that on top so you can see at a glance which have power in them.

Adding Shadow Foam to your DeWalt battery box

We used ready-made foam inserts to store a selection of 10 batteries in the case as well as having two charging in the lid section since the lid still closed with the other batteries in the base. This is quite the upgrade!
