Why Net Zero, you ask? Because we recognize the urgency of the environmental challenges we face. Shadow Foam is on a mission to not just meet but exceed sustainability expectations. Achieving net zero is our way of taking responsibility for our carbon footprint and contributing to a healthier planet.
Our Environmental Stance
We understand that every product has an impact. By looking to achievie net zero, we're ensuring that our footprint is neutralized, leaving behind a legacy of environmental stewardship.
Shadow Foam is at the forefront of innovation, constantly exploring eco-friendly materials, production processes, and packaging solutions to minimize our impact on the Earth. To further implement our dedication to this cause, we've recently begun working with the incredible Switch2Zero who help business transition to net zero. They fund a variety of third party verified carbon offsetting projects, while also directly combating plastic pollution and investing in future carbon capture through the planting of trees.
Through this, and in conjunction with their partners Eden Reforestation Projects, we've already planted 10,000 trees. The trees we've planted so far have been split across 3 different plantation projects. So far we've supported reforestation in Senegal, Mali and Uganda. We will have footage of some of that planting coming very soon, and we can't wait to share that with you.
how does shadow foam deal with waste?
We send all of our offcuts to a company in Wigan, only 14 miles from our warehouse, to be reprocessed into damp proof membrane.
why is recycling in the uK important to shadow foam?
We don't want to ship off cuts half-way around the world to be recycled, as some plastic is. By recycling locally we cut down carbon emissions and help to achieve our goal of being net zero.
where does shadow foam's energy come from?
Our energy provider is Octopus Energy, meaning all of our electricity comes from renewable sources, like solar panels and wind turbines
What Sustainable Actions are Shadow foam taking now?
Right now we are using entirely paper tape and 100% recycleable packaging. We also plant one tree for every order, which currently, is split across 3 countries.
