First look at the Bunker Load-Up Drawers

Bunker Load-Up Drawers – UK first look & review
(Phase 2 of the Draper Bunker Load-up system)

The Bunker Load‑Up storage system has already made a strong impression on the UK tool storage market. In our previous review, we were already impressed: the system was solid, well thought‑out, and excellent value for money. At the time, one key element was missing... the all-important drawers.

Bunker promised they were coming… and true to their word, now they’re here. Along with a few more unexpected surprises.

They've teased the arrival of the Phase 2 drawers, and are indicating a real levelling-up from their existing range. We were privileged to receive the system from the Bunker team head of their official UK launch on 25th February 2026, so can happily preview what's to come in the first and only official pre-launch review of the system, so we're really grateful to the team for that opportunity. However as always with our assessment of any new system, you can rely on our impartial and honest thoughts.

Initially the range will be sold via Amazon, from 25.02.26, with other UK sellers coming on board in due course. As always, you can keep on top of all the latest updates both here from our Industry news scoops, and on our What Tool Box channel.

Bunker Load‑Up Drawers: Phase 2 explained

The arrival of drawers marks Phase 2 of the Bunker Load‑Up system and significantly elevates the platform from just another good modular storage solution into a genuine contender for the top spot in professional tool storage.

Bunker have launched three drawer box configurations, covering a wide range of uses:

  • Deep Drawer Unit – ideal for bulkier tools and power tools

  • Two‑Drawer Unit – combining a semi‑deep drawer with a shallow drawer

  • Triple Drawer Unit – perfectly suited for hand tools and organised layouts

This variety mirrors what users have come to expect from systems like Milwaukee Packout and DeWalt ToughSystem, and all at a relatively competitive price point too.

Indicative pricing prior to launch looks to be:

Fair proposed pricing, then, which sits the system nicely alongside the other big brands and which potentially offers good savings overall for comparable systems.

Drawer Design & Build Quality

Straight away, in all instances, the drawers feel solid, reassuring and well engineered, as we've come to expect from Bunker. And as is needed to stand up to the rigors of on-site daily use. Some notable features we saw include:

Full Extension Drawers

All drawers pull fully out, allowing complete access to contents without fighting the drawer or reaching awkwardly into the back. This is a small detail that makes a big difference in day‑to‑day use.

Also drawer extension is an important consideration when it comes to adding in and removing our Shadow Foam inserts which can really help you organise and make the most of the drawer space available to you.

Double Drawer Slides (Deep Drawer)

The deep drawer features double drawer slides, adding strength and stability when loaded with heavier tools. Even under weight, the action remains smooth and confidence‑inspiring.

Internal Drawer Dimensions

Internal Width: 399mm
Internal Length: 277mm
Deep Drawer Depth: 264mm
Shallow Drawer Depth: 84mm

These dimensions give the units good capacity, making them usable for everything from hand tools to larger kit, and they work especially well with the addition of foam‑based organisation.

Security: One of the Standout Features

One of the biggest strengths of the Bunker Load‑Up drawers is security.

  • The drawers are lockable as standard

  • A tight lock bar prevents any drawer movement, even without a padlock fitted

  • A padlock can be added for extra peace of mind and added security where needed

  • The system hides a concealed, removable locking mechanism, allowing you to keep everything neat and secure when needed, or in original form when not. It's an elegant and discreet solution that we really liked with this system.

In practical terms, this means tools stay put during transport and remain protected on site when you need them to be.

Half‑Width Organiser: Another smart addition

Alongside the drawers, Bunker has introduced a half‑width organiser which was necessary to keep up with competitor products.

What sets this one apart is the side latch design, which differentiates it from competing systems and improves ease of use in most scenarios. This addition opens the door to future half‑width options... we’d fully expect to see items like half‑width boxes, totes, and other accessories added over time.

However it's worth noting as a slightly less positive aside, that if you sit two half width options next to each other, you won't be able to easily access the latches for opening. Small detail but could be important for some users.

New Accessories: Worktop & Rolling Dolly

Bunker hasn’t stopped at the drawers and organiser on this phase 2 roll-out.

Worktop Lid

A new wooden worktop has launched, allowing the system to double as a functional work surface. One nice detail they've always had across the Load‑Up range is that the recessed lid design means that items don’t easily roll off the lid. However now having  the option to add the Worktop gives even more opportunity to allow for practical working on top of the system, effectively turning your stack into a mobile workstation.

In a nice touch, as you can see from the photo  - once the worktop is in place, there are still usable cubby hole / recesses to prevent small parts, screws etc rolling away, but you have the usability of a solid ply surface to work on too.

Rolling Dolly

The rolling dolly adds mobility for users who want flexibility without committing to a full rolling drawer unit, though we’d love to see that added to the range in the future as so many of the other brands are starting to do too.

Overall System Benefits

Stepping back and looking at the solution as a whole again, the Bunker Load‑Up system continues to impress. Notable nods go to:

  • Excellent locating system between modules

  • Practical and sturdy accessory rail

  • Distinctive drab olive colour, which looks great and stands out from the competition (that's our term - Bunker's official term is "Army Green" though you'll widely see it listed as Green and Black in other places. Something we feel doesn't really do it justice as a really cool, and different, kind of khaki colour.)

  • EVA cushion top has been confirmed as coming soon and this addition will definitely give the Bunker system an edge over others who don't offer this

Price & Value

This is where Bunker really shines.

The Load‑Up drawers are competitively priced for the most part, when compared to other drawer ranges in the likes of the Milwaukee Packout and DeWalt ToughSystem lineups. When you factor in build quality, security, and modular flexibility, the value proposition is strong.

Final Verdict

The arrival of the Bunker Load‑Up drawers to compliment the Stacking System, completes what was already a very good core system. With secure, solid, full‑extension drawers, a very elegant and robust locking solution, smart accessory additions and competitive pricing, Bunker has firmly positioned Load‑Up as a serious contender for the top modular tool storage system in the UK.

If the aforementioned rolling drawer joins the range in the future along with the impending seat conversion, this system could become truly hard to beat.

For now, Phase 2 delivers exactly what was promised by Draper Bunker... and then some.
