For us, Youtube has been such an important tool. Not least as a way of inspiring and guiding our customers in the best way of using our product for great results. But also as a way of reaching new markets and brand new customers along the way.
Then, in around 2019, things really started to take on a life of their own. One 9 minute video in which we made a tool storage wall for our Makita power tools went off the scale. It quickly hit a Million views within just the first few months. To date, a little under 2M have now watched that "original" power tool wall video! Since then, we've clocked up at least 7 more shorts / videos which also exceed that magic 1 Million views mark. One of those is even approaching 10 million views as we speak.
It's almost unfathomable for us to think that over the lifetime of our little channel, we've not only engaged in some incredible collabs with huge creators, but we've had over 41 million views of our content. To date, viewers have spent approaching 2 million hours watching our videos and makes. It's just totally mind-blowing, but also humbling in equal measure. However it isn't only this which is driving and inspiring us to continue to make more great content.
Through our Shadow Foam Youtube channel, we've been able to bring together an engaged, vibrant and like-minded community. Most are trades, tool enthusiasts, collectors or users. But many are just those who enjoy organisation and creative solutions or hacks to help them bring more satisfaction and order to their lives. It's this growth and support from this community which have really driven our continued Youtube work.
We were all set to announce the fact our channel had reached the highly coveted 100 thousand subscriber mark. This is a huge and exciting landmark for any Youtube channel. However, the uptick in subscribers since that landmark has continued to grow since receiving our coveted "play button," to the point that we're now proud to host a 128k subscriber community... and still growing!
As of this year, some reports suggest that there are less than 450 thousand channels worldwide who have over 100k subscribers. When you consider there is a massive 114 million active channels on there, that positions us up there in the top 0.5% of channels on Youtube.
So all this has naturally brought yet another evolution to our channel, in that we're now regularly reviewing applications from other brands and organisations keen to sponsor our content. As such you'll now see some of our videos being supported by big brands and world-leading products from around the world, like Surfshark.
As we continue on this path of channel growth and development, we'd really love to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who's been part of this journey with us so far.
